Liam I don't get it... at 185 and 65 how could you possibly be pudgy?

I was 65 around Christmas, I just normally drop to that weigh if I eat normal calories and don't get hideous amounts of exercise. I'm 76-7.5 depending on the day of the weak now. I'm pretty muscular given the BMI, and very little body fat. Except for exactly over my abs. drives me nuts.

People who I actively know cheat on their taxes (because they tell me they do) who also hold very leftist views about the rich paying their fair share.

That is a long way off. For now... still can't breathe. I think Desi-hot Indian food is in order tonight to clear the sinuses.

It's kind of meaningless to compare tax rates across countries because the taxes can be structured completely differently.

That said, US federal income tax rates typically run from 0 to 39.6%. Nearly half of Americans pay the 0%, only the top couple percent pay the highest 35% and 39.6% brackets. But there are payroll taxes, local (state and municipal) income taxes in most areas, then various consumption taxes, capital gains rate, alternative minimum tax, etc etc. Certain benefits are offered tax-free, and other things are deductible (home mortgage interest) confusing the picture further. Looking at one country's income tax and comparing it to another and trying to draw even tiny inferences is unwise.

Net Income, should give a comparable number.

With taxes "that low", I would pay, but being in the high end of the tax bracket here, I feel like any saving is welcome.
