1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

I paid a parking meter today, one of those ones where you put your CC in and specify how long you are going to stay, and then it prints out a ticket to put on your dash...

It was 7:58am; I bought two hours, out prints a ticket good til 9:58am. As I started to step away with my ticket, I glanced at the active hours of the meter. 10am-8pm.

Turns out you didn't even need to pay for that parking spot then! The money spent on parking could have been put to better uses for sure!

(My new character on SF is that I state obvious points that are unstated in others' posts. I think my new character will be very popular.)

SWMBO has informed me that we are going out Saturday night to a show. Great now I miss the Brumbies V Rebels game on the box, and the weather forecast is for torrential rain, gales and the arse falling out of the temperature gauge. :brick:

From now on when I am called upon to do something I do not want to do, I will say "I am sorry but I must watch the Brumbies."

Nice try, but I doubt anyone in St Louis would understand.

You can think of Styleforum as your safe space on account of doesn't have any "downvotes." Just a supportive community, basically.

Here are two kinds of behavior that I'd prefer not to have to deal with, but that I have had to deal with lately irregardless. In my limited experience on the globe, it is usually women who do both of these:

    1. Choose to perform a task that no one asked them to perform. Then complain bitterly about being forced to perform the task.

    2. Have an episode of yelling and crying that is inappropriate for the circumstances (such as being in public) and claiming that "they have a right to their feelings." When I try to say that it is not always appropriate to manifest your emotional state, it is like I am talking in ancient Greek (or some other language unknown to my interlocutor.)
