1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

You need to pay attention to the last clause of my post. "...and pour more wine." For her.

this morning I almost got frostbite putting fuel into my car. the fucking continuous flow notch kept on slipping so I had to stand there and squeeze the nozzle while filling up my almost empty tank.

I couldn't even try another nozzle because there was only one diesel pump. My hands went numb then started to ache/pins and needles. I'm pissed how its actually fucking colder during the sunlight hours during this polar vortex shit.

once the wife starts ranting you ask: "so how did that make you feel?"

then wait for a pause and you parrot her response and add "I understand/see and would feel the [same way]"

example: "She said what to you? Really she said that? I see why you're mad would be pissed too."

then you just keep quiet and listen and keep on doing that until she's relaxed.

the trap that piob mentioned: trying to solve the problem, or offering hard logic is wicked hard to avoid, but you just have to.

the hard part is having to listen when you know its just an inane rant. or differentiating if its just a inane rant or if its potentially serious.

^ women are the proof that no matter how smart you are, no matter how right you are, no matter how logical and sound your ideas are, no matter how precise you are in seeing consequences, no matter how good you are in analytics- sometimes you just don't win.

Okay betimes people use emoticons in their posts hey I don't know what they are supposed to express so I put my cursor over them in hopes of seeing text. What kind of emoticon is it to where a man must hope for text in order to gander of meaning?

Fahrenheit's definitely a better scale. I can understand the problems with other English units (especially mass), but Celsius is just less precise.

From what I gather, Celsius was adopted because instruments that originally measured in Celsius were more precise at the time.

    Oh well. Small matter.

    lol, wut?

They are scales. Independent of instruments.

Secondly, it's calibrated to freezing and boiling, everyone on earth knows that, and that's obviously the "why."

switching/quick converting easily between both and being nonchalant about it makes you look totally Alpha.

complaining about one or the other is a new form of beta.
