Condolences, DS. That's a really ****** situation, but good on you for doing the needful.

Retail therapy for the win. :slayer:

:nodding:

though, it was not exactly "retail." sale shopping might be a better term.

Retail!?! Are you trying to get IS in trouble with the Joonion?

I loathe getting "Hey Doug, how you been? Long time no see! What are you up to these days?" e-mails from really old friends or acquaintances I've not been in touch with for years. Not so much because I'm anti-social - but because these old friends or acquaintances are invariably in the financial services profession.

Thanks for the advice and support guys, I really appreciate it.
You're to be commended for moving back to take care of mom. I wish you the best, and hope all works out well for you with the lease situation.

Google Voice is great. It's been super useful over the last few years. It always had one problem though...it can't receive picture messages. I never really card about this because I don't care about picture messages. If you have a smart phone, you get better results sending the picture as an email. Besides, most picture messages I get on my regular number are just bragging **** anyways (look at me, I'm on a beach!)

But now more and more people I know are using iphone group texts. For some reason, group texts from an iphone are technically picture messages and thus if you send them to my google voice number, I won't get them. Not only will I not get them, but neither you nor I will get any sort of notification that the message wasn't delivered.

Now this awesome technology (google voice on a smartphone) is making me feel worse off than my friend who still uses a dumb-phone. She at least gets some messed up message thing--it takes like a minute to load on her phone, but at least she knows it is there.

Not sure if this pisses me off or makes me happy. Both I guess.

The leftette asks if I can return a candle to a store for her. I say sure but ask why, it's just a candle and we could always use another. She says, well I just thought I'd rather have the $275 back.

This is not a candlestick, it's a candle.

I'm pissed that I don't have a cute Style Forum nickname for my SO.

Hmm..I will go with Mrs. Neo.

You have to have a SO before you can have a cute Style Forum nickname for him or her.

Wow. That's some next level consumerism there.

Possibly. I'm scared to open the package in case I damage it and they won't take it back.

Oh, she has not yet begun to shop.

I'm looking forward to returning it.

"Reason for return?"
"Are you kidding me?"

Forgot my headphones for the gym at home so I bought a pair only to get here and find one of the speakers is borked. Annoying.
