Aren't you going to the parade? You know, team spirit and all.

its not a deal exactly, and i dont want to get detailed into what she does, but she works freelance, and if a job cancels, there is no guarantee it will reschedule, or she will get it. and it was a good job she had lined up. not cool.

its a mess here. i am downtown cuz i work here, but do not plan on attending the parade. one of my bosses is going. he has been outside for hours, it keeps getting delayed. the players cant get in from all the traffic. people have abandoned their cars on the highway.... classic bmore. the inhabitants are inconsiderate and the city seems to have been vastly unprepared for the event. no surprise to me.

    ^damn sorry about that Stitch...

as for driving around in downtrodden/scarier neighborhoods:

I have a friend who's fucking clueless who asked me if we can meet up at 1pm for a late lunch. She lives in Coney Island. Thats like an hour and a half drive right now during lunch from the upper west side area of manhattan.

She'll do this often... just ask to meet up with my wife and I and she'll say something like "can you guys meet me in the Bronx? I'm in the Mt. Vernon area" like its no big deal. The that part of the bronx is like a 45min drive and an almost 1.5hr subway ride from our house in brooklyn.

but her mom and dad kind of entrusted her safety to my wife and I (we're all old friends) because they know how flighty/flaky she is. I just hope this doesn't involve borrowing money or something serious.

    indeed. there is no imitation.

thanks, doc. it really is not an issue for me as long as things clear up by 5. the only problem was that my wifes job cancelled.

That's pretty much the only part that I break, but I don't drink beer. Gin doesn't have carbs in it so I feel better about it.
