no beef, no good.
Its 29c and I am working from home with no air conditioning and there is no wind so the fan isn't working properly
and its the wife's birthday and I have to prep and cook a rack of lamb, plus grilled leeks and courgettes, bake some supds, steam beans and make a red wine jus oh and while i am at get wine, open and allow to breathe.
Thankfully I have made desert chocolate rum mouse first thing after the gym this morning
and along with this I have to complete a job application and get a report done for a client
and I am still waiting on a pair of cotton linen trousers from Lands End which i hope arrive before winter.
fuck this for a joke.
Vegetarian chili is fine, but this was vegan, so it didn't have broth, which takes all the savory goodness out. It was just wretched. I didn't want to say no because I admittedly have a bit of a crush on the barista, who is extremely nice. I go to this place a couple times a week.
I made a big batch of veggie chili tonight. Pinto beans, kidney beans, black beans, corn, red/green peppers, lots of onion, spices. The key ingredient is a teaspoon or so of dark cocoa powder. Adds a nice smoky flavor.
Oh and at least five cloves of garlic.
Try a little worchestire sauce.
This makes no sense, how can a broth be vegetarian but not vegan?
Because vegetarian can simply refer to absence of meat, but not animal byproducts like cheese, milk, eggs, or broths made with bones.
because vegan and vegetarian are not the same.
edit - damnnit - SH already said it.
this sucks for everyone involved (except the meth buddy who called back). some people just don't deserve help.
the only reason we still have a microwave oven is because they're dirt cheap nowadays.
speaking of microwave ovens... this is about the time in our home building adventures that we need to pick, buy and pay for the kitchen, including cabinetry works, the counter top, appliances... .
Btw, there's a whole bunch of people that will tell you if it has beans in it, it ain't chili.
