1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Stitch is right, Dexter is a serial, so you can't really just jump in in the middle and expect to enjoy it.

Also, the later seasons weren't nearly as good as the earlier ones. It was still good, good enough to keep watching if you're already into to, but it wasn't great enough to meet the expectations/draw in someone who was checking it out after hearing of its greatness.

What didn't you like about Deb's ending? It sucked that she died, but I can see how it made sense. Also, I wasn't thrilled with what a bitch Dexter was about it, but I chalked that up to the fact that he'd only been experiencing real emotion for a few years.

Honestly, the biggest disappointment to me was the fact that they didn't wrap up Masuka's daughter plot line. They introduced a pretty major character late in the series, spent a bunch of time developing her, and then just completely abandoned her. Way too open-ended.

idk, i thought some of the later seasons were quite solid. i loved the series all the way through. i really liked how it explored dexter as a person and how they pushed that from season 4 and on.

well, i didnt like that they killed her at all, but after thinking about it, it does make sense with how they directed the ending for dexter. the whole everyone close to me dies thing and his subsequent departure from everyone he knew.

but i did not like dex pulling the plug and being a bit of a wuss like you said. (i guess this would also depend on a persons felling about pulling the plug in general, but i didnt like it.) if she had to die, she could have just died regular, not sure why dex had to do it personally and why they went that route and what that added to anything.

and then dropping her white sheet shrouded body in the ocean was a bit OTT for me, like really? but i guess thats neither here nor there, more of a side point.

at first when it seemed dexter had died i was pretty wtf you have to be kidding, but when the final reveal was shown i was like yeah that makes sense. im down with that.

the more i think about it, the more minor it now feels what was bothering me.

i think more so i just wanted to see the show go another way. dexter being able to finally shake his dark passenger and live a somewhat normal life with a like minded serial killer gone straight and narrow, together with a kid. deb running the miami PD and staying with quinn....

masuka finding out its not really his daughter and then haveing crazy S&M with her. jkjk on that. and yeah, it was weird that they just left that. i guess one is to assume they work it out and he is a good dad and all.

whatever, im a sucker for happy endings (inb4joke). but after some thought following your post, i am thinking that the ending was pretty darn good. especially because i never had an issue with what happened with dexter. though i would have loved for that cabin to be a kill room with a dude on the table.

i think i might watch it again just to see how it strikes me on a second viewing.

You should've known beforehand that as a general rule nobody in Germany gives a shit about an American's opinion regarding their work. They also don't expect or want you to speak German to them if you only studied it (goes for nearly every language, actually).

You should know now that the most likely reason people hate working for a German company is that they're Germans and, at least in English, are very direct.

he's certainly trying to get a rise out of people (which he obviously did)... but, he's right that the building itself is not innovative or generally very interesting architecturally.

    how so?

I don't care that he thinks the building is boring. I think that it is boring but claiming that the terrorists won because the building is boring is moronic. Let's be real, it replaced two buildings whose only point of interest was that there were two of them.

Yeah, the Freedom Tower looks like crap. Plus it's shorter than either of the old towers. That's just weak.

I always had a hunch that your bespoke dildo was integral to the world economy, no matter how small the piece.

[IMG] 1,268 ft is taller than 1,347 ft? 104 floors vs 110.

My math is bad, that's why I went for the humanities but I'm pretty sure of where those numbers relate.

Spires don't count. Never have, never will.

1,268 is certainly not more than 1,347 but 1,368 (actual height) without the antenna is.
