I thought you were already in your career of choice?
Yes. And when I explained that she shouldn't be going on dates with guys she just met four hours before, she looked at me like I suddenly sprouted three heads.
I'd fucking kill her. Did you split the bill at least?
What? Always room for upward mobility. Plus, I am young, who knows where I will go from here.
I suppose his family is fairly well off so it doesn't really matter what he applies for, they're probably just trying to get him out of the house. Don't think he cares what he studies either, would probably end up doing liberal arts if he applied in the states. If what I applied for didn't matter i'd just go to central saint martins and make some cool sculptures or something. Yeah UCL is university college london, best part of going to the higher up London schools is you get to refer to KCL as strand polytechnic.
I'm a gentleman. I paid for everything in so much as I laid a $50 on the table & told her to call her husband for a ride home.
It's getting to the point that I about just about ready to give up on getting a girlfriend or getting married. I was about less than a month away from moving out of my parents house, and I lost my job. 26 months of unemployment & I got a part time, minimum wage job. After four months of that I got a $14 full time job with a temp agency. I got a call the Monday evening before Thanksgiving telling me not to come in the next day. I'm going to be 30 next June & I still live with my parents. This is what you call failure.
It isn't failure if you keep trying your best.
The line between success and failure is very thin...
As long as you continue to try, better days will come..
Was she wearing a ring? Whenever I meet a woman, it's almost a reflex now to check for a ring, just to give me a clue as to where things stand.
Given your circumstances, I imagine that $50 was very valuable. It's easy to say this from a distance, of course, but keep your head up and resist the temptation to think of yourself as a failure. Once that way of thinking becomes habitual, you'll be in a bad spot that will be hard to extricate yourself from.
@ L'Incandescent, new cat?
This is the first thing that I always check for.
Nope, that's little Genevieve. I don't want to jinx anything, but over the last week I've been pleasantly surprised at her health. I haven't been seeing the really serious symptoms of renal failure that I was seeing a few weeks ago, although the symptoms are still there in a weaker form. Also, she had lost quite a lot of weight, but over the last week or so she has put it back on. (I haven't weighed her, but it's obvious just looking at her and picking her up.)
There's a thread on Basenotes (fragrance forum) where people give away samples, covering the shipping themselves. It's a nice idea, and I've given away a number of samples. But there are some people I've given samples to who haven't sent even a cursory "thanks, I got it" message. I think the people who do that are young and haven't mastered basic etiquette. But still.
Nice, I thought she had been euthanized, so it's good to hear she's still up and making sarcastic comments.
People who use the phrase, "native tongue".
Separate names with a comma.
