Also, I'm at the Milwaukee airport with a long layover and everyone here is fat as shit. They just waddle around the concourses in their stone-washed jeans and white generic tennis shoes looking for cinnamon rolls and pizza bites to graze on. It's repulsive.

I grew up in Wisconsin, and a couple times a year I go up to visit my mother. I am always stunned at how fat the average Wisconsinite is.

In July I was stuck at Milwaukee Airport for 10 hours: 3 hour layover with a 7 hour delay.

    It was hell.

Didn't leave the airport - so nope. Flight was pushed back an hour at a time, so was never able to visit the city itself.

Oh no, you missed a great opportunity! There is a Usinger's in the airport itself. I am sure you are kicking yourself now.

I turned in my grades yesterday, and today I have just shut down: I am tired and I'm not succeeding at getting anything valuable done. I think my body just wants to relax a bit, but there are new projects I'd really like to get started on. Definitely an uphill climb today.

Why do naps suck so much for me? After work today I took my first one in months since I was completely exhausted. Now I'm no longer tired but am infected with a crippling laziness that is preventing me from the desire to do anything I had planned for the evening. This whole taking a nap to recharge thing people always talk of seems like utter bullshit.

I've been on the road for the past three days....

    NYC-DC-Charlston SC-Vero Beach FL-Key West

I've got some big decisions to make about where I might live in the near future.

Everywhere we've been has been awesome but for some reason the driving, even with stops and overnight hotel stays has been kicking the shit out of me, I'm sick and can't drive for more than 2 hours without wanting to just stop and take a long nap.

I've been sneezing my typical violent 3 sneezes in a row and its kind of dangerous when driving.

Driving down here in the south has actually been awesome with the 70mph speed limits (which means you're hauling over 80mph most of the time).

The south also has probably the best fast food/fast eats in america (chick-fil-A, waffle house, Cook Out) - but eating this heavy/rich/fat-salt-sugar ladened food has kicked my ass too. This is the first time i've actually experienced heart burn and being hung over the next day eating like this.

My car got dented in a hotel parking lot in Charleston SC, no one left a note and the hotel's security cameras weren't operational - so it wasn't worth filing a claim with the police/insurance.

Vero Beach is wicked awesome, but looks like it could get boring if you lived there full time.

the Florida Keys is awesome too, but I finally got my first traffic ticket in my 17 years of driving. I blew through a school zone going 45mph - the sun was in everyone's eyes and the school zone sign was actually on a high post overhanging the street so it was invisible with my visor down. plus there was a huge truck right behind me so there was no safe way to slow down without me getting rear ended. I was maybe going to try to argue my case but the police officer was really angry/agitated so I just profusely apologized and took the ticket without any resistance. I guess my first ticket is going to be one of the worst violations

tomorrow we start heading west to new Orleans which should be awesome but it would be nice to actually spend around 2-3 days in one place to get some rest and maybe fast away the southern food induced lethargy.

I really thought driving wouldn't be that hard, but shit I wish we just flew to the cities and packed light.

^ nah there's a 85% chance I'm staying in Brooklyn. the longer I'm away - the more I realize that I love it there.

gf - geez sorry about your car. when my car was dented in a hotel parking lot I was actually relived when I saw there was a security camera right there to see the whole incident. but when I talked to the hotel GM he informed me that it wasn't working I had that sinking helpless feeling where nobody can help you: the police or the hotel management...even the insurance isn't worth using.

acid it's weird having close HS frineds into adulthood huh? I have a couple that wanted me to be a godfather to their children and I'd love to go back to the old country/across the country but sometimes is just not feasible. then the wife of the batchmate starts chiming in that maybe I'm not suitable because I won't make the effort and its a huge cluster fuck.

The funny thing is that I grew up in a fat state too but I never felt disgusted by this fatness until moving to New York and losing my tolerance for fat white people, which are very few and far between in NY. I felt like a French woman at a Peoria Kohl's.
