    sorry Connie, that is horrible

I had a problem last week that required a remedy of eating more fiber. so I spent the weekend eating a lot of fiber. apperantly, a little too much fibder for the delecate balance that is my digestive system. this morning I pooped out stuff that might very well have been stuck to the walls of my guts since Regan was president. this wasn't really the effect I was looking for. I now feel weak.

    fuck.

My rent check is going to bounce this month -- how embarrassing ...

I totally fucked up my cash flows this month and now I'm just barely short on cash after all my bills and credit card expenses were paid for. Definitely not going to liquidate any of my stocks to pay for this so I guess I'll have to suck it up and get hit with the bounce fees.

    Dammit!

So please tell me you're not a financial consultant.

    I'm not.

I got overzealous and bought more shares of stock than I should have

Isn't that sort of the point of the credit card...you don't *have* to pay it all

Seems better than bouncing your rent check.

Yeah.. well all my bills get posted before my rent check and it wasn't until now that I just realized my rent was going to bounce.. otherwise I would have done as you suggested.

Oh well. Gotta pay a $100 fee but that's about it. If only I had bought one less share of AAPL.. dammit. I guess the silver lining in this scenario is that the ROI on my reckless investing covers the $100 penalty and more.

Why wouldn't you sell a share of something? Trading fees are less than $100...

In the future, learn to keep a cash buffer that will pay at least 1 month's rent+utilities+CC. Hell--start charging yourself an overdraft fee if you ever drop below that (move your "fee" into savings or donate it to a charity..or send it to me) if it will keep you in line.

No shit. Putting every available penny into the market is a pretty bad idea.

Am I the only one here whose bank offers overdraft protection?

If I overdraft my account, it hits a credit card automatically (and for free). Don't get me wrong, I'm not the type to overdraft my account, but it's a nice feature to have in case I do make a mistake.

Mrs. A. broke the dimmer switch on our bedroom chandelier just as we were going to bed - it still dims, but doesn't turn off completely. Time for me to learn some basic electrical repair!
