My health insurance premiums are fully paid by my employer. Unfortunately, it's such a shitty plan that I am coming up on 5K out of pocket for the year, 7 if I get my implant before the new year.

Man, penile enhancements have gone way down in price over the past few years.

Last year in a move to keep premiums from rising, they instead changed us to a shittier plan/provider for 2012...luckily it was mid 2011 when I broke my hand! (although I only got the last check from insurance a couple months ago).

Now this year premiums are going up and deductables/copays are going up....
I don't even know what to describe it as...our old plan said it was a PPO but this one doesn't say anything (Cigna Open Access Plus). It has features that I associate with a PPO (such as the availability of many in network providers plus the option to go out of network and pay more), but I am sure I am getting fucked somewhere.

That's what I have too. Cigna Opean Access Plus. They cited a lot of reasons for the rise in cost. Basically they attributed it to being too good in the past to the point where people were abusing it. People didn't want to pay co-pays so they went to the emergency room everytime they were ill because the plan covered 100% of it. Also it covered ridiculous things like medical facials, massages, acupunture and people were going constantly. This stuff among other things. People are ridiculous.

once again i am reminded, that anyone who writes their emails with colorful letters or background, will prove to be a PIA, straight from the loony bin.

Yep, namely my mother. Kind of like in 8th grade when you first learn powerpoint and all of your class presentations are filled with flying naying unicorns.

Should I be disappointed or not that I'm planning my own birthday shenanigans? I did it for two close friends a few months ago, and it seems I'm going through the trouble to plan mine. Kind of unsettling though I don't mind being in charge of the agenda.

You're one of those assholes? I have this friend who plans the most expensive shit for himself every year. I haven't partaken in recent years but he is turning 30 next month and it is all I have been hearing about. Fuck you people and your birthdays.
