No power at home.

At the office, I come in to find that my desktop has **** the bed finally. Had been giving me troubles for a few months. It's old and in need of replacement. So is my laptop. I had sort of decided that I would limp along with what I had, trying to wait for the Surface Pro to come out, hoping to buy one of those to replace both the desktop and the laptop. But the desktop had started to die faster and faster, and today it was DOA. Wouldn't even turn on.

So now I'm on one of these goofy terminal jobs, hoping to make it through the next few months (most everyone in here is on a terminal) but I am finding it woefully inadequate for my speed and browsing and display needs. Any graphics rendering is painfully slow, color resolution is a mess, and there's tons of lag typing in a reply here on SF.

What is this "desktop" of which you speak?

j/k

I assume by "terminal" you mean some sort of network appliance using Windows Terminal Server?

What else? Stuff that matters to other people.

Was talking to a management consultant on Saturday and she was saying that no meeting should ever take more than two hours

Crapitty crap crap! Crap! Officially announced today that my company, where I have worked for 15 years, will be folded into our parent company as of January 1 and then will cease to exist. Pretty certain my office will be closed. Wonder if I will still have a job?

Stress level just tripled.

My employer is being a royal pain ********** right now.

There are some people who believe that since the client pays the attorney that the client is the boss. I am not one of those people.

Ugh ******* insomnia. There's this great little diner about two blocks from my office. They have a homemade pork roll and fried egg sandwich that is heaven. I was hoping to wake up a half hour early and get out to it for breakfast. Little coffee, little breakfast, read the paper, then go to prison. But since I can't sleep no breakfast stop for me.

:(
