1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I had to work with a complete dickhole in grad school, and it really made the whole process much, much worse (and it already sucks). He wasn't a bully, just had no interest in being civil to anyone that he didn't think would benefit himself. Basic stuff like "Where'd you put this piece of equipment" would be met with blank stares and attitude. He was the lab Golden Boy though, so he was untouchable.

Texas is miserably, stinking hot. It is seriously beyond me how people lived here before the advent of air conditioning.

time warner isn't available at my new address. my $69.99 triple play package that was successfully grandfathered in for the last 4 years is going to end :cloud:

the best part was the internet speed we got on this block. even the most basic of internet packages got something like 30mbps download... so when FiOs finally made it into the area it didn't really make sense to switch.

I did a little searching and it looks like my only choice in the area.... is...... comcast...

HD antenna is the way to go. I haven't even hung mine up near the window yet and I get NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, and a couple other random channels in HD. Throw in Netflix and Amazon Instant and you are good.

I may get a Roku eventually since I can then watch HBO GO on the TV.

The only way you can go without cable is if you are not a sports fan, which is simply unacceptable!

get roku now. though HBOGo only works on roku with certain providers, look into that.

i have always been able to get network TV with an antena. i only found out a few years ago that in some areas you need cable to get even the network channels. sucks.

have friends that have cable. :teach:

    you suck.

That's unfortunate. I was watching them rattle off hits and runs last night and it made me sad for the Yanks of old.

there was a RESOLUTION to my cable/internet/phone woes of yore

the digital antena is awesome though, you really do get super crystal assed clear High Definition for free with all the major networks (NBC, abc, cbs, pbs, ect ).

also you can buy a tv dongle for a computer to watch HD digital TV feeds too (but only the free stuff) which is great for sports that are on free tv.

I'm pissed about this humidity though... makes 80ºF feel like hot soupy air. Also they elderly iltalian guy I was renting parking from got super pissed at me that I'm leaving. I got berated in heavy italian american gibberish for 10min while I sweated out a shirt.
