1. I'd like to announce that animated avatars are now available again. You'll have to reload, but they are once more possible.

We've been doing a ton of work behind the scenes. The site load speed was already under 1/2 of what Huddler's was, on average, and we installed cloudflare, which means that the site should be even faster. A ton more will go on in the weeks and months to come, and some things will be more visibile, and some less.

    Cheers,

    Fok.

    Did I take this far?

I come back from drinks to go the bathroom...there are only two sheets on the roll. Fortunately enough for me I have tissues behind me. My roommate left the roll with 2 sheets on it and didnt update the backup when he took that maybe a week ago. The backup goes under the sink...I thus did not replace the now empty roll and hit the tissues in a cabinet out of reach. We have plenty of TP in the closet outside the bathroom...if he happens to sit down tomorrow to go and doesnt realize...

Yeah, I was just exaggerating the point so that I could comically compare the city to Paris, London, and Rome (and of course Utrecht too). So far I'm enjoying the city, though. Thanks for all your help!

acidkid #1's got recurring knee pain, specially after sports. its been getting more frequent lately, so we did an x-ray and it does look like there's something going on with her femur. could be growing pains, but could be also something that needs therapy and stuff so off to a pedia-rheumatologist we go this week!

^ can't really say without a specialist looking at it. my sibling took a look, but she's an oncologist so she can only tell us what kind of doctor to go to.

I never, ever go to the brooklyn flea. While I probably wouldn't buy bunch of anything at it, I don't like that it is on all of those stones. I think this forum is the only place I can somewhat get away with saying I wear expensive shoes and I don't want them to look like a pompeii exhibit after browsing. The whole thing is a big dust cloud. Sorry, not my bag.

    Sorry to hear that, AB.

As for me, I hate that it's only Tuesday.

eeek, sorry to hear that. Hope it's nothing serious.

    ...

Had a nice long chat with my aunt last night on the drive home, and it really underscored how messed-up my family is. She dished on all kinds of things that I never knew. She's not 100% right and readily admits to it, but she makes it sound like I'm the only sane person in the last four generations (but then again, she's not seen my DT poasts). It had recently come to mind that my genes won't continue on past me and I wasn't sure how I felt about that. Now I'm less-disturbed by that prospect.

Too much caffeine this morning. I crossed that line from "awake and motivated" to "jittery and can't focus."
