    I'm thinking about swearing off network TV. There are a couple of things I would like to see finish off (one finished up this year already, another is ending soon, and the rest are headed in a direction that will pull them over a big enough ramp to make it all the way over the shark) but I haven't started a new network show in years. Maybe if something really good starts up, I will wait until other people verify that it is good and can tell me exactly when it starts to suck so I know how many seasons to watch on DVD. That way I don't have to waste my time but can still see things that are truly good

    Other than that, there is good premium programming (past and present) and since I am a filthy pirate, watching it is not really that big of an issue. If it assuages your guilt, just add the DVDs to your netflix queue, download and watch them, and then take them off of your queue...think of it as a form of format shifting (which is normally legal) that saves netflix on shipping.

    They're way better than cars. What do you need that is so special besides maybe a bottom bracket or cassette tool? (which are both tools that no home mechanic would have in the old days either) and with shimano/campy/sram that is at most 3 tools (and there is definitely some crossover...pretty sure shimano and sram share cassette tools at a minimum).

    95% of the work on a bike can still be done with something like a 5mm hex key and a 15mm box wrench--especially the basic things like small adjustments of wear-parts which can't be done on a modern car without a lift, a tray of tools, and a code-reset tool.

    tbh, there are not many shows i really "follow" anymore. but when i have no netflix dvds and there is nothing decent to watch i get bummed out.

    at present i watch;

    make sure to catch every episode
    the good wife, which i love. haters may hate.

    watch casually
    crminal minds, which i still enjoy pretty much
    unforgettable and person of interest, both new, so far allright.

    and occasionally
    CSI and the mentalist

    :laugh: not my style, but i have a pretty steady flow of dvds from netflix. if i go from 2 to 3 dvds at a time i could likely escape this issue.
