Well, the sun is shining on Texas, finally. But it was a glooooomy sky out there for the weekend.

Bought a brand new umbrella last week, forgot to take it with me today, got totally drenched in the rain... :fu: On the plus side, I got to see two college classmates who are in NYC for New Years.

Just moved over to Verizon after being with ATT for 7 years. My monthly bill is supposed to be around $70 with my employer discount, but lo and behold, I checked my bill today and it's $160!!

They're suck crooks! I called them and they said that I went over my voice allotment because I was on the phone for 60 minutes at the end of the month (which is when I got my phone activated), so even though I technically didn't go over my minute plan, the proration made it such that I did. That's some shady shit right there, but I got them to take that charge off.

Second, they tacked on a one-time $35 activation fee. I don't know what the fuck that's for but I bet it was somewhere in the T&C agreement that no one reads. Whatever on that charge.

Third, she went on some weird BS about how I'm getting charged a month in advance but honestly I couldn't tell what the rep was saying. Her name was LaQuisha (no joke) and she was speaking in a very hard-to-understand, pseudo-professional ebonic accent. I'll call back tomorrow and see what's really going on.

Not to mention, when I first got my phone at the store, the dumbass ported the wrong number (after my telling him my number three times and even writing it down on paper for him) so I had someone else's number on my phone. The poor dude whose number I now had called me because his phone was malfunctioning somehow and my phone wasn't able to make outgoing calls. I went to the store again to get it fixed and a different guy said it was all taken care of and to wait 24 hours for everything to reset. I waited 24 hours and my phone still wasn't working. So I went to a different verizon store and the dude finally fixed it for me. When he asked me where I went originally, I told him of the location and he scoffed, saying that the 'dudes there are fucking lazy.'

God these phone companies are so shady.

phone companies in the US suck ebola-infected monkey taint... shitty products, networks, service, prices, etc. I've bought better working & reliable phones at 7 Eleven! (not in the US obviously)

I'm definitely going to give them grief tomorrow about the troubles I went through to get my phone finally working. Hopefully they'll give me this month for free.
