    Okay, why has seemingly no one else been disturbed by the fact dcg apparently keeps copies of his coworkers resumes on his computer? :uhoh:

    I'm happy my parents had a great trip/visit here. We did all the nyc things (they are like 70+y/o hipsters without the irony) and then some (even bought my dad a jacket a patagonia at soho and Jennifer Connely and her husband walked by and we ate lunch next to mayor bloomberg). It was nice since my wife is on a business trip for the week (easier to focus on visiting parents when the wife is out of town).

    then I drove them to the airport... and then my dad "surprises" me with a ticket to San Francisco for the weekend (which fortunately I have off). I really just wanted to have some alone time (really alone since my wife is out of town) and get some rest (decompression).

    It was a great week because everyone was so relaxed just hanging out and doing whatever here in the city. But a weekend with the whole family and flying out/back red eye (JFK-SFO) is just going to be a lot of stress and jetlag.

    eh. staying away from carbs is easier than counting calories


    nuts are pretty good for you, but it's far too easy to overdose on them. pack a small veggie bag of a known quantity of nuts and eat just one of those. nuts have very little satiety

    also i think wheat bread/pasta or brown rice is far far far overrated. it's basically the same thing as its refined versions with just a few more grams of fiber and microscopic amounts of unnecessary and otherwise easily fulfillable vitamins.

    if you're not working out avoid starchy foods or grain based foods. if you're working out and want to build muscle those are pretty necessary.


    or just switch to diet. it might taste a little different but they're def not worth the calories and they basically have no satiety. if you really crave them go for it on a saturday or something

    I tried but I just can't deal with it. All artificial sweeteners taste nasty to me. :(

    what about stevia sweetened drinks or much less sugary drinks like honest tea?

    imo most sodas and fake juice and teas like snapple or just wayyy too sweet.

    stevia is also no dice, honest tea and like are actually not bad. I have a sweet tooth.
