    I laughed at this a bit. When I was in law school and working a pretty intense job I used to fantasize about getting in a car accident and spending a few months just laying there, not being expected to do anything. Hopefully rear-ended by and 18 wheeler so the insurance would pay for it all. That was not a good time in my life.

    the dog that my girlfriend and i adopted 6 months ago probably has an extremely invasive form of cancer. most of my savings will be eaten up by the diagnosis (just spent $300 at an emergency vet, have to go in tomorrow for x-rays, blood test, and a biopsy). no idea how we can afford surgery, chemo or radiation. she's 5 years old.

    That sucks. Not sure what I would do if my dog needed cancer treatment. Depending on her odds, euthanization might be the best choice.

    we've only had her for 6 months :( :( my girlfriend has been crying for hours. even if had $30,000 for all the treatment, it'd only add 3-9 months for her treatment. i pray that it's just a benign fatty mass, but she has almost all the symptoms... guess i'll have a better idea of it tomorrow. it's hard to think that i have to wake up and live my life with this in the background - i have to give an exam tomorrow morning, start grading papers.. just like a nightmare.

    i feel bad for you and your girl i really do, and im sorry that you guys have to deal with this. hopefuly the little pooch will be ok. i will say though that i can not not fathom why someone would spend 30k for medical attention on a pet. call me callous, call me a jerk, but i just dont get it. again, i hope it turns out alright and good luck with the exam.

    we paid over that with my dog. ~5-7k on each surgery (4). Pills and meds after each surgery, special food. Every visit to the vet was minimum of 500. totally worth it tho, I loved my dog :( plus he protected my house!!!

    +1. I feel lost in my career. Its getting harder and harder to go into work everyday and my work product is beginning to reflect that. I feel defeated. Hopefully i feel less shitty when I wake up. G'nite
