I was cleaning the person I used to take care of house tonight and was helping them do a few things on the compueter. One was apply to a job and I noticed that they've now applied to 450 open positions. In the past year. This is someone with 25 years experience and a masters degree. The look of sheer and utter dejection on their face is heartbreaking.

I only had 5 years experience at the time, but I applied to over 200 jobs over a year before finally getting my current one in Hong Kong. Tough market.

london is way too ******* expensive. i went to a gallery, topped up an oyster card, got postcards (but no stamps), lunch and a raspberry tart from lauderee and that was 60 pounds.

London is as expensive as New York or Paris (probably more so) but lacks all of the things that make those cities remotely worth the expense.

This may not make sense but whatever... London has the edge over NYC for overall expense but on top of that, there are ways around NYC's high prices and still having a decent experience. Here not so much. or at least I haven't found it other than the British Museum where I will see some of Liz's relatives for free.
