    I feel your pain.

I have had about $2,000 in water bills over six months, during which time the water was shut off at the meter.

Repeated phone calls have gone nowhere. I have to head down there soon as our reno will be done and I'll actually have to live there. I am not relishing what is to come.

That seems like a lot of water. Either that or water is really expensive in Baltimore.

considering his water was actually off and they clearly fucked up, it looks like they decided to go for the gold in the fuck up department (they are quite good at that). and pretend that not only was he using water but that he was using tens of thousands of gallons of it.

    oh, I am pissed off.

so, the Governor's office called last week, and wanted to have the Governor make a speech on exports from my office. I was really pleased, because it's great recognition, and it would be great to have a video of him and me on a podium, talking about exports. it would be killer for my CV.

anyway, so I set it up, we have technicians setting up the sound system, we have people cleaning and moving stuff around, we order coffee and donuts, we throw maybe 50 man hours of differnt people's work into it. it's supposed to be tomorrow first thing. I get a call at 5 pm, telling me that something came up with the Governor's schedule and he has to reschedule. frankly, I am going to be really busy in the next month, and I'm sure as fuck not doing the work to arragne this if I'm not going to be on the podium. so, it looks like it isn't going to happen. fuck

think of how many jobs were saved or created though based on the premise of his visit.

Oh god, the week of the 24th is going to SUCK. I've got to wear a monitor and log my activities, and on top of this, I've decided to have the bright idea of scheduling some dermatological testing at the SAME TIME, which will coincidentally last the entire week. I'm obviously a masochist.

yeah, I guess I was naive about the whole thing. I am thinking that I will be very nice to the people from his office when they call again, and try to make it work with my availablity, and not let them feel how pissed off I am. I was supposed to talk for 2-3 minutes on the podium with the Governor, on how we have grown our exports. honestly, that is pure gold in terms of self promotion, so I need to make it happen.

If any of these are robocalls you are in luck: http://ftc.gov/opa/2009/08/robocalls.shtm

I believe you are eligible for $500 reimbursement for any violations (you have to take them to small claims though)
