You're with her and the ex is part of your past..

It's a bit hurtful but she knows you had a life before meeting her...

Did the ex leave you ?

Women are funny with ex hang up...

Yeah, she is a handful of years younger than me. We had a baby and now she is very self conscious. The girl was petite and hot. We separated for dumb reasons. But when I really think about it's probably because I snore. She was always elbowing me in my sleep.

The wifey sent me a photo of the photo and told me she is throwing it out right now. I just said oh ok, that's fine. She did not like that for some reason. She always wants me to understand her feelings but I just don't. And this pisses ME off. Stop assaulting me with your feelings!

Yeah, I just never know what to say about stuff like this, except for "women are nuts". My wife is actually really cool about not being jealous and this is the one area where she is not totally nuts from time to time. Still I just don't understand how some people, especially after they get married and have a kid, can harbor so much jealousy. I didn't really date too much before I met my wife, but I couldn't care less about the boyfriends from her past.

Women after having a baby have body issues...

My wife had twins and they took a serious toll on her body...

I t took more than two years to regain her pre-pregnacy weight..

    You have to be patient...

My wife is not jealous at all and that's a good thing...

You have a baby with the ex? Then she isn't really out of your life, is she? It's hardly surprising that your wife is jealous about this "other woman" in your life.

It's possible that your wife wanted you to be upset, because your indifference suggests that it's easy for you to walk away from an emotional attachment. The fact is, it is easy for you - you're a guy. Women have a hard time understanding how situational men's affections really are. Conversely, men have a difficult time understanding how women maintain attachment. You wind up asking why should she care if you have a picture of your ex? Why is she upset that when she got all irate about the ex, you shrugged?

What I've found works best is not to react to her emotions (OMG honey what? Why are you upset? I thought you wanted me not to care about my ex, I don't get it!). Instead, women are seeking acknowledgement of the existence of their emotional reaction - "I understand that you are upset that I kept a picture of my ex girlfriend. I held onto it because at one time she was important to me, however now you are the most important thing in my life so if you need to throw the picture away I will understand."

Oh, and GOOD LUCK WITH THAT.

Sorry about my bad paragraph structure. I have a baby with my wife not the ex. That is some good advise. It's just so hard to say all that. I thought I displayed all of what you said when I said "fine, ok" to her throwing it away. I guess I need subtitles.

Yeah, sometimes I just tell myself grow some balls but marriage is like a chess match when things get rough. You have to sort things with skill since she is going to be with you the rest of your life.

It doesn't matter WHAT you say. She wants you to know SHE is upset and she wants YOU to be upset about it.

    Got it?

    Enjoy.

    THIS. All of it.

Oh, and Neo: my balls are the reason I'm perpetually in the doghouse.

and the gay guy understands women better than all of us...

I really don't want to go back to work on monday. I wish i was wealthy.

The New World is on TV right now and i'm fantasizing about how nice it would be to be able to experience that sense of wonder and discovery, and do do everything for yourself and not have to deal with inter-office politics and all that other bullshit. A cabin in the mountains with a view of the water sounds kinda awesome to me right now.
