So I have a next-door neighbor who is on the creepy side. We sit on a corner, so our yards basically back up to one another. They have a couple of "no trespassing" and "private property" signs in front of their house. Also, when I had to go by there once to ask a question, I noticed that they had the shades all completely drawn, a "trespassers will be shot" sign, and a couple similarly odd signs. We live in a quiet middle-class neghborhood, and it's a little weird that they're so paranoid. Despite all of this, they keep to themselves, and I'd never met any of the people who live there (no one was home the day I went by).

A couple of days ago, the lady of the house came by my place to ask about some piece of tchotchke that had gone missing from her yard. It was some sort of decoration, and she wanted to ask if I'd seen anybody around her property. I told her I hadn't, and we chatted for a bit. Now I wish we hadn't talked. I discovered that "a little on the creepy side" doesn't begin to describe this woman. She told me she's had problems with vandals in the past who messed with her landscaping and decorations. She eventually got fed up and went through the neighboorhood like "Sherman through Atlanta" looking for people. This somehow put an end to the landscape vandals.

Then, as she walked away, she dropped this one on me: "I have cameras on all four corners of my house so I can see what's going on. One of them is on your back door, so I'll let you know if I see anybody messing with your house, too."

    What. The. Fuck.

Tell me about it. Supposed to be 96 tomorrow, 100 on Friday and 95 on Saturday. And thats without the horrible, sticky, impenetrable humidity.

I just returned from walking the dog. It was miserably hot. Fortunately he pooped as soon as we got going, so I cut the walk short - in essence turned around an headed back to the house right away.

If you think it sucks working in a retail store with no air conditioning, wait until you have your first day with a heat index of 115 and have the air conditioner in your kitchen, which is full of equipment made to make shit hot, stop working. It's not fun.

    I suppose she's no hottie.

you could try air-drying it out... if you're gonna use a hairdryer just make sure the heat is turned off. if the car acts up again you have to bring it in... fucking car companies with their computer boxes placed where it can be damaged. couple of years ago flood damaged thousands of cars here and toyota and honda service centers were backed up for weeks with cars having their ecu's replaced.

I'd be more than happy to. If you want to deal with the shit that I deal with for 18k a year, you're free to try.
