For instance: I like the way C&J does their sole edge treatment particularly on brown/burgundy shoes. Unlike the way Alden does a black sole edge on the lighter colored shoes.

For me it would rapidly devolve into...

Gaziano and Girling
What I like: Everything
Why I don't wear them: The price.

But I'll try to keep it in the spirit of the thread.
Doc Martens
What I like: Nice uppers.
Why I don't wear em: Too many logos and I'm not wild about the rubber along the welt.

I hear ya. I have stayed away from G&G due to the fact that something spectacular isn't readily available in my size and I have no clue about sizing/fit. Some of the pics I've seen were awesome tho. I'd rather order from Alfred Sargent.

Part of our curse, as you well know, is that owning and wearing is only half the fun.
There are not enough mirrors in the world.

I admire handsewn buttonholes on suit cuffs but would never spring the $$$ to have it done myself since I think it's really pointles and a waste of money, but i'd notice if someone had it and compliment them on it.

Makes me wonder if anyone's ever added functioning cuffs to the bottom of trousers for boots etc...

^^ I think I've seen something like that before, they convert from a cuff to uncuffed pant depending on the shoes.
