I purchased my first TaT suit for a wedding this month. I'm 5'10 and 165lbs. 38.25" chest.

    Black Kid Mohair
2 Button House Cut with Non Functional Cuffs

The jacket is really slim which is big difference from my previous suit. I think I got the sleeves pretty much spot on, showing a little less than 1/2 inch of shirt. This is the best I can do as far as a picture goes, since no one is home. The inseam looks almost spot on too.

Help! It seems I have too much fabric... Is that the only issue? can it be fixed? How? Any other suggestions? Also, Please excuse the jean pockets...

This is easy. If I were the tailor, I would take in some fabric on the back shoulder area, and let out the back (around the waist) a little bit. Both these adjustments will happen on the back seam that runs down the middle of the back.

It's also hard to tell, but it looks like either your sleeves are a little too short, or your cuff is sitting well below the break of your wrist. Either way, this issue should be fixed as well.

you are both right on the money... Went to the tailor and he is taking care of the jacket no charge, since I'm a good customer and he didn't take care of it previously.

Also, I've come to realize EVERY shirt sleeve I have is an inch too long! Never realized it before, as this is the first jacket I've had that is the proper length in the sleeve. All my shirts when I'm standing are almost an inch too long, maybe 3/4 of an inch.

I'm pretty new to all of this, but reading this forum has been a HUGE help. :)

All that said, he is letting out the back a bit and taking the material out of the shoulders... Jason is correct in stating that shoulders are the HARDEST part.

Personally, a 32 inch sleeve length fits me perfectly how I like it, which is when unbuttoned, the cuff sits around 3/4" below the break of my wrist. That way when bending my arm, the shirt tends to rise proportionally with the jacket, rather than leaving 2-3 inches of sleeve showing.

When you get a chance can you post some better picture of the fit? I'm pretty much the same size as you and will be ordering a mohair suit soon.

Hello everyone. I have been reading up on this thread and im kicking around ordering a semi conservative suit from TAT but have a few questions and concerns. First one being, i LOVE my RLBL suits. They have a very structured shoulder and i believe they help my sloped shoulders dramatically. I am in the market for a staple navy and was kicking around a suit supply suit, or picking up a steal on ebay in the under 700 range..Do you think its possible to get more of a structured shoulder in this suit or it defeats the purpose of the style?

Hey everyone, this is actually my first post. I actually just made the decision to buy a TaT suit in the coming weeks. I love the style, and the canvas lining is a big sell for me. I was wondering though, if anyone had any trouble getting in touch with Jason initially. I sent an E-mail in order to request a compiled list of color choices/ get his expert advice regarding a style and fit several days ago, but didn't get a response. I mentioned that I was hoping to purchase in mid May/early June in anticipation of his workload, and I'm worried that the general timeframe I provided may have put him off a bit. The address I contacted was infor@thickasthievesla.com, so I'm also wondering if there was a better address I could have contacted. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had similar experiences, I'd hate to miss an opportunity to acquire what I regard to be a quality suit at such an affordable price.

    Thanks Everyone.

I emailed Jason a week and a half ago and he responded same day. The response email was from thickasthievesla@gmail.com, so he is likely forwarding to that address. I would just try him again.

That was a typo on my part, actually. I was copying the address over from my gmail account and must have added the 'r'. Good catch though, imagine if my problem were that simple. :Haha:
Thanks, Eliu. I'll give that address a try. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

    Thanks again everyone.

I used that address and got a prompt response. Thanks again. Jason is sending me a few samples of VBC127, VBC125, and Charcoal #9. Really looking forward to them!

Jason gets a large amount of emails daily. Keep in mind that TaT is a side gig, he has a full time job in addition to this. I talk to Jason on a regular basis and there's been 2-3 times where I had to resend my emails. I'm sure they got overlooked with the other emails he gets. If you don't get a reply in 2-3 business days I would resend your email.

I'll post a few pictures from the wedding photos when we receive them. The groom and myself both have 2 button black Kid Mohair suits as seen in this video.

Just got my suit back from being pressed, I am very pleased with the results of my first TaT suit (or any MTM suit). Maybe I can shave a hair off the pant length, any other suggestions for tailoring? Ignore my cocked shoulder, don't know why I am posed like that!

Actually this looks pretty good! I thought I recognized the fabric... I have the same one.

The one thing I might do if I were you is let out the jacket sleeves about 1/2". It seems like there is just a bit too much cuff showing for my tastes.
