Talking about guitars, now that's my thing. Got a couple of Strats and 2 Paul Reed Smiths. And I agree.....$130.00 for a guitar is just a waste of money.

It's likely that many groups you like today wouldn't be around if somebody didn't start off on a $130 guitar.

Now if it's a $130 Walmart guitar-in-a-box thing, you guys are spot on. If it's a $130 beat up, mis-priced, pawn-shop, one-in-a-million...**** ya.

I respectfully agree with that.

$130 is not too bad for a guitar. My main guitar right now (LoPrinzi Nova Futura) set me back over $4k - used part of my stock payout at work to pay for it. I use this at home and even though it is insured almost never leaves the house.

I do have a decent Yamaha student model that I play from time to time and travel with that I got used for about $150. No where near my LoPrinzi it is still fun to play. The action is a bit easier to work with too and more forgiving of my lapses in technique and forays into flamenco.

If your guitar cost so much that it would bring you dismay when you break the headstock off on someone in your audience's face, then you've chosen unwisely.
