There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Don't mean to derail again, but wanted to share my experience:

Zam has always gone far above and beyond, for me, the level of service/accommodation you get from other other clothing retailers (let alone designers themselves). That being said it sucks when anyone has a poor experience. I don't really understand the logic of posting it in a public place before expanding all the options available to you, but that's another conversation. I genuinely believe these issues are due to lack of/miscommunication or special circumstance, as opposed to somebody lying or trying to take advantage. Given the opportunity, I know Zam would try and resolve things amicably, not just because he's a nice guy, but because it's good business.

    Yes

Art pictures had done a lot to show what many people who have bought stuff knows. the Clothes are exceedingly better in person than the pictures suggest
I hope we have really good images for the SS14 season

Hi @Zamb , I got the Echadh top, thanks! It was worth the wait. [IMG]

I gave it a delicate wash on cold and hang dry overnight... the fit is perfect, fabric is 100% brushed knit wool, it's like a really nice lightweight sweatshirt, and the wool is soft enough to use as a baselayer against the skin. Perfect!

Art and Noctone, I wasn't going to respond but now I feel I have to. I do understand where you are coming from, but you and others assume I did not do everything I could before posting my experience here. I assure you that is not the case. I'm not going to go over this again and I don't feel the need to justify my actions to you two or anyone here, the fact I had an undelivered item after waiting 6 weeks and inquiring about it several times should be enough justification, I don't know what you expect. But please understand you do not know what happened and you are just assuming because I chose not to make the details public, and I stand by that because Zam's reaction was fair and I wanted to give it another chance.

And this thread is about Zam Barrett, who is a designer AND retailer AND brand name. I have EVERY RIGHT to post my experience here, and so does everyone else, good or bad. That is what internet forums are for. If a designer or retailer wants to sit around and have a circle jerk with their fanboys they can start their own forum and moderate it themselves. I don't think anyone wants SF to be censored, and my post in this thread was entirely appropriate despite what you two may think.

P.S. I also want to point out I NEVER accused Zam or anyone of being decietful or trying to take advantage of me. I simply did not receive an item I paid for and had issues with follow through and delays on the pants I wanted to order.

Now, this has been addressed and I don't see the point of people blaming me for posting when they don't know the details, or attacking Zam either. Shit happens, that's life, let's move on.

Didn't you say you never called? I'm not trying to downplay your experience, or claim that I know the whole story. Everyone has their own way of dealing with issues like this I spose. Glad it worked out in the end.

For people who have bought from Zam before, how long did it usually take? I've seen posts that say things like "I ordered on Thursday and received it that Tuesday." as well as advertisment that promised Christmas delivery if ordered before the 19th. On the other hand, it seems like many people here don't receive their clothes for several weeks. I've been waiting for two weeks now with almost no responses so I'm afraid I'll fall into that latter category of customers. I've been really hoping to get these jeans before Christmas.

I received my DNA's timely and without a hitch, but I also live relatively close. If you're worried, you should probably send Zam a PM or an email to tracking@zambarrett.com.

On the DNAs, I sized down one and they fit perfectly, very comfortable. The fabric is great and the quality of detail is excellent.

I'm looking forward to your Spring releases.

I ordered my DNAs a couple of days before Black Friday and they shipped on the 10th. I sent an email to tracking@zambarrett.com and I got a tracking code. I was realistic and I wasn't expecting next day shipping like you get from Yoox, Asos and sites like that, obviously we're talking about a much smaller company.

Surprised you could size down! I'm usually a 32 in regular jeans (RRL, PRPS) and 33 in slimmer ones (Levi's 511, Dior, Nudie) and my size 50 (which I believe equals to 24) DNA pants are tighter in the top block than any of those. But what probably happens is that nowadays vanity sizing seems to be the norm.

I am happy he received his item, he is a satisfied customer and we can all move on
while what happened to him was not the best experience, he has bought other items before which he never had a problem with.

the issue with the top was a simple mistake, and it happened because I made an exception that i dont usually make and it led to this.

can you please send an email to tracking@zambarrett.com

Please list the name// size// of your item and please use the paypal email through which you made the payment.

I dont know if we have communicated via email as I do not know everyone's screen name.

As a rule of thumb ( though not always) Zfactorie items that are bought directly through the web store site, process faster than a custom order or an tem that is bought through our sample sales.

this isn't intentional but simply a matter that the web store system allows for faster order processing than otherwise.

and again, we ask for every ones patience, we are not Yoox, or some other big e-commerce site.

Just always send a message to Kymoya at: tracking@zambarrett.com and she will get back to you with any questions you might have

An update on the Echadh top... I gave it a wear yesterday and I am very happy with it. I really like the design with no side seams and the wavy arm seams, it both looks and works great. The arms are attached to the body at a higher angle than typical which prevents the top from pulling up when you raise your arms despite the slim fit (on me, I'm not a slim guy). The wool fabric is awesome, it's warm but not so heavy to make it too hot indoors, and it's super soft, not ichy at all . Definitely one of the nicest tops I have... design, construction and fabric are all top notch.

glad you like it, Echadh's are structurally very strong tops, the minimal seaming allows for very little weak points on the top and the rotating seams relocate the seams from stressed to non stressed areas on the garment.

Proper cleaning will allow this garment to last a very long time!
    enjoy!
While the patterns are TTS, sometimes there may be slight variations in fit depending on the fabric/ treatment. a 50 should fit a size 34 waist comfortably, also bear in mind there is some shrinkage during the dyeing/ post production treatment processes and many times the garment loosens up with wearing

Do you make any pants that don't curve? Fabrics you use are always really good but even the minimalist pants seem to have some time of curve.

    Yes

we make a lot of pants that are not curved.

Like art said, the Z-1 standards are straight legged, the minimalist slim pants are straight legged, with no side seam. Last seasons Zero jeans was straight legged. We also do a lot of suit pants every season that are simple and easy to wear but sometimes they are not produced. the Soft j pants from the current season has very little curve to it. A great pants that is under represented because the pics are not great

For the upcoming SS14 season there will be a pair of "basic jeans" that will be slim fitting and straight. I think a lot of what we do people are not aware of. like @JBravo saying he has never seen a collared shirt from us, yet we do them every season.
We are still working on the web store each season and the reason for it is that stores dont order everything so a lot of times a significant portion of the collection is not produced. Zfactorie exist to solve that problem

Just wanted to come in here and say that I picked up a pair of overlocked DNA jeans in a black cotton micro-herringbone on B&S, and they are excellent. The only clothing article I've handled which feels as sturdy and well constructed as these pants is my ToJ. They just feel like they will last a long time. My compliments, Zam, even though I didn't buy these directly from you. Now that I've gotten to see how nicely made your clothes are in person, I hope to order something from you in the near future :nodding:

    Thanks and much appreciated,
we do get a lot of customers this way, people who buy on the second hand market and love the products so much that they become long time customers of ours, we dont mind it at all.

Right now is a very good time to buy. we just started 40% on the entire Zfactorie stock until the end of the year with free shipping to all US based customers. the coupon code is: 40off so there are a lot of good deals to be had.
We sincerely hope you can get something during this sales season.|

Over the next couple of weeks we will also be taking the time to share a good bit of details on our products with some of our freinds here...........
