Di Canio is indeed an interesting blend of contradictions - an honorable beast, as it were. Although an animal, he is quite talented and there is no doubt he is a man of fiercely held convictions. The action you describe does not surprise me, nor am surprised when I watch him shove referees and slap opposing players in the face.

This season Daniele De Rossi scored (either tying the game or putting Roma ahead), but refused to allow the referee to bring the ball back to the circle, insisting that that the goal must be disallowed because he had inadvertently handled the ball....

We get live Serie A games here in England and I have to say I have a soft spot for Roma.I am a Man Utd fan by the way.

DiCanio is made for Lazio I think,there seems to be lot going on there.I was always fascinated by the relationship between Mijhailovic and the fans.

Actually that was never the point. The original point is that Football v.s. Rugby is an unfair comparison. I am tired of rugby players getting on their high horses and telling people that American Football players are less manly than Rugby players because they wear armor. The game is totally different, and the weight difference between the players makes much more of an impact than you think it does. You get hit alot harder in the NFL than you probably ever would playing rugby, and by bigger guys. You said that there were 2 players on your rugby team that were 280lbs? There are 19 players on the Seahawks roster that "officially" weigh more than that. Generally, players fudge and are actually playing heavier than they list, so there are potentially over 20 players on our roster that play at, near, or well above three hundred pounds. The Seahawks aren't that "big" of a team either. Our offensive and defense lines are often considered "undersized". The difference between the heaviest current NFL player at 393 lbs (the actual 2005 midseason playing weight of Toniu Fonoti who plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and Bill Cavubati (the heaviest rugby player) at 357lbs is pretty large when you are talking about them hitting anyone with their full body weight. 357lbs is probably just a handful of pounds above the average weight of an offensive lineman in the NFL. In 2003, there were 321 players in the league over 300lbs. There are undoubtedly more now, I just can't find the numbers to back it up, I'd be very suprised if its gone down though. Anyways, I just thought I'd clear that up, I wouldn't want you to besmirch the intentions of my original post. Oh, and I'm only a Manchester United fan until Ruud leaves, and then I'll be a fan of wherever he ends up.

Di Canio talks a big Lazioforever game, but he's ready to jump ship after the they failed to back him up in the two 'heil hitler' episodes. Compare his peripatetic career to Totti's for club dedication and devotion....

Sinisa Mihajlovic is a superb free kick specialist, and a complete beast of a player - yes, the curva nord loved him dearly, and I'm sure the Leganord fanatics at Inter are glad to have him

My grandfather and father support Utd,I was born 4 miles from Old Trafford and now live 6 miles from OT so who do you expect me to support.
I never said I liked Sinisa I just commented how his relationship with the fans was incerdibly political which is something you would never see here.

As for Vieira he deserves all he gets,he is just a bully who met his match in Roy Keane and **** himself!

Amen to that, the sooner England is knocked out the happier I'll be. Perhaps then we can get back to normal. I really wish I'd taken my holidays in the US for the next few weeks.

I am assuming you are English,if that is the case,then you should take your 3 weeks in the US and stay there permanently.
