The key to having an extremely straight trouser line is to have a wider leg in a heavy fabric with a very sharp crease. That's why vintage pictures of pants with 10" hems look so clean - he pant fabric isn't coming into contact with the knee or thigh which throws off the line. Wider hems also mean you don't need a slanted hem.

Also Fwiw I've never been a fan off Epaulet suits on Stanley (and have said so for like five years). It's a very American cut and he would look better in something English

    Yes I agree completely.

Which is also why I believe for those who like the slim look, a wider fitting trouser (think straight leg) would achieve an overall slimmer appearance.

Why don't y'all focus on your own weak ass styles instead of trying to fix Stanley?

    ^I agree.

And we were talking about a suit specifically.

We just trying to help out on the OP suit fit.

This is not open mic for suggestions on his overall style; stop with this MMM and Saint Laurent suggestion. Those are taking a completely different approach and not conducive.

Where is @Synthese? I think he was making a good point. When are you going to wear a suit, Synth? I am ready to be blown away.

    I agree actually.

I had English suits in the past... [IMG]

Only the thing is they were both cheap (Next) and too large (size 36 when I need 34) so they fit poorly and wouldn't have ever been worth keeping due to the quality in any event. But this does give you some idea of what more shoulder padding, and in the case of the grey one on the left, what a longer jacket length would look on me -- just imagine it all scaled down a little to get to my correct size. Now I'm not aware of anywhere in the UK where I can get a half-decent suit OTR in my size, but if and when I go bespoke, I think the UK is at the top of my list for where I start looking.

Sorry to have again caused a total CM derail about my suits. FWIW, I am still getting better critiques and more interesting discussion than I do over there.

Because of your dropped right shoulder and waifish makeup I would strongly suggest bespoke.
