The post count issue is just a red herring. The reason this whole thing blew is up is the same reason why it's blown up dozens of times before: Guy new to what we accept as SW&D comes in, sees what we've already been conditioned to or embrace, and is scared senseless by none of these looks adhering to the GQ-prescribed Way a Gentleman Should Dress. One of two things then happens: Guy has an open mind about exploring these completely foreign looks or he reacts to this fish-out-of-water feeling by going on the defense and lambasting every fuckin' weird-to-him outfit he sets his sights on.

With this latter approach, the guy can either politely question or criticize all of the elements of a particular outfit that are strange to him. Or, he can get flustered, and immediately break out the sweeping generalizations where he lets us dweebs know that we all look stupid, and how could we ever leave the house like that, and laid, don't you want to get laid, god damn it, young man?!

And then things erode until the new guy takes his Alpha-as-fuck ball and leaves. Or he stays and becomes Regis.
