I find this to be a really short sided comment. I don't understand the feeling that if people are nice to one another or act as a community that they need to be condemned for it. Why does the rule for this thread need to be the norm for every thread? Perhaps people there have different aestethic values than you do? It is after all an affiliate thread and therefor tends to included s more similar than different group. I for one enjoy both this thread abd that thread and their differences

Fair point. I think my comment was more flippant than necessary, and I'm a little low on sleep so I don't know that I'm going to express myself any better now.

There are a bunch of guys in the Epaulet thread that dress really well. With the exception of NYI, SVB, and probably a couple of others, they don't really cross-post to SW&D WAYWT. I think that's a shame, because there's a lot of people who capture the Epaulet aesthetic really well, and that's something I think we don't see enough of in this thread.

I don't know that something being an affiliate thread necessarily exempts it from being, for lack of a better term, a forum. It can be about both the stuff Epaulet makes - which is very cool stuff, by the way - and how to maximize...enjoyment? style-related benefits? overall looking-good-ness?

While I can't claim to understand everyone's motivations, I think it's fair to say that many of Epaulet's customers are buying the clothing both because the garments themselves are very good and because the garments help the people wearing the garments look good. I don't see providing feedback on an outfit and being nice as mutually exclusive. People can be plenty dick-ish in WAYWT, but if anything it's easier to get away from that in an affiliate thread because it's already more of a community with more shared interests and viewpoints than the forum as a whole.

edit:

Holy ****, I just read through the last couple of pages. I sincerely hope that my quarter-zip sweater dis did not touch off that unfortunately slew of man-skirt hate and sinnedk posting.

For the record, I like man-skirts, also known as skirts. They're also pretty much the norm in many parts of the world where it's often too damn hot for pants.

Put too much stuff in my coat pockets, doggie bags and whatnot, so there's a bit of skirt flare. Oh well...
