    Thanks, hendrix. For the record:

To be clear, I'm not complaining about SW&D. I like it here, actually. I just think a Free For All thread with participation by people actively interested in both would like be different than either of the existing fitpic threads.

All those fits are good on mc side. You can only do so much with suits so its nothing new. I am sure most sw&d guys can do a cm fit if they wanted, just follow basic rules and you are good.

You will be suprised as to how terribly difficult that shit is. Even many regular MC posters aren't good at doing so.

Even good regular posters. sinnedk, what you're suggesting is akin to saying that it's easy to follow basic rules with jeans and a t-shirt. We see here on a regular basis that basic ≠ easy. With a limited the range of expression, the smaller details have greater significance.

I am fairly certain that 99% of swd -definitely including me - would struggle to put something together even if you laid out several posters' worth of wardrobe in front of us.

Also meant to say that it can be straightforward to put together a by-the-numbers fit, but it's hard to do something within the form that expresses some personality without stepping outside the lines.

From my limited perspective and experience with suiting and tailored clothing, I'd say there's a ton that goes into those excellent fits, whether it's the meticulous tailoring (and subsequent alterations), appropriate matching of accessories with patterns, or even things as small as collar size of a shirt which can play a pivotal role in making (or breaking) a fit.

I have much respect for those who do it well because it certainly is not as easy as it looks. And the same goes for the exceptional SWD fits.

I'd take on MC...Wouldn't mind some of those Tom Ford suits with wide lapels

Only thing I don't do is ties and or anything that constricts my neck. I don't know how you guys do it

Full disclosure. 80% of the time my top button is undone and my tie is loosened.
