Has anyone ever started a thread about how to take better fashion selfies?

Because most of these are really terrible and some of them are great.

I'm not trolling; There's a reason I've not submitted a fit pic myself.

it's all about lighting, hence outdoor usually better than indoor

@ScuffedBluchers this was fun to think about. I'm not sure it deserves an entire thread, but i guess threads are cheap.

here are the basic rules I've found:
    *use a reasonable camera/camera phone
*get your whole body in the shot
*clean your room, or better yet, find a cool space to shoot in
*use a clean mirror or, better yet, don't use a mirror
    *assume an ungoofy pose
*position yourself so a light source illuminates the side of you facing the camera
*if a light source is glaring into the shot, don't bother with the picture
*if there's basically no light source anywhere, don't bother with the picture
*and don't bother uploading if none of the details of the garments come out in the photo, which can happen even when the light seems OK
*put the camera somewhere between your waist and head height (with that said, i'd like to know if anybody else has thoughts here)
*in a photo editor, crop to an appropriate level of focus (this isn't a problem i've seen i guess but i'd better say it)
*once uploaded to SF, change your photo's sizing code so that it's of appropriate size--not too big, not too small; i usually aim just under 1000 for both measurements of mine, with some consideration of the assumed aspect ratio of my picture

of course there are exceptions to all of this but i think you should feel these things out and see how it goes before playing with what works. oh, and don't insult yourself in your post--if you have to do that, you probably shouldn't be uploading the picture.

Good guide, and yes, chest level is usually best imo/e.
