I like the Foo fit, it is indeed similar to what friends of mine are wearing who live in Williamsburg, NYC, and who also have that white-only interior design with an arch lamp diskussed 11 years ago on styleforum (I'm not from the US). The hendrix fit has a cool style as well, something more in the direction of what I would wear, because I wouldn't be comfortable with skinny jeans.

But this analysis from TheFoo is making me wonder if my shirt is too tight in the chest as well, resulting in a "too-short front balance"? View attachment 2230525 View attachment 2230527 View attachment 2230529
Man, those slip-ons with shorts are . . . not getting it done. Get rid of the socks and **** up the shoes a bit. Make the whole look less cared for.
Or step it up from the knees up. Nicer shorts, nicer shirt, better fabrics.

That’s nice, someone finally liked the Foo fit.

Thanks for the recommendations! The shoes are beat up enough. If I would wear "nicer shorts, nicer shirt", no socks & these loafers (from Loakes), my guess would be that there's still some inherent dressiness in the shoes that doesn't work as well with shorts as other loafers. But what is it? Which design element makes some loafers work with (nice enough) shorts? Don't just say suede.

You look like a 14 year old who is two months deep in reading a sneaker Reddit and got a chance to use their mom’s credit card for their birthday. If that’s what you’re going for good job.

I know you’re going to reply and say that we’re all of out touch and this is what “real” people are wearing in the streets of New York (which is funny considering the parts of the city that I’m sure you actually frequent) but you do not look good. You are not achieving what you want.

If you really want to dress like this, crop the tshirt (or size down) and get longer, slightly looser jeans. Or don’t and continue getting mocked online and pretending you’re just rolling with the punches.

If you’re into skinny jeans then wear them, I think the whole ‘get some wider pants’ thing is redundant.

I’ll caveat my comments by saying I know a lot more about dressing like **** (from personal experience) than I do about dressing ‘well’.

But the thing that strikes me as odd about your outfit is the long sleeves coming 3/4 down your arms, not sure it’s doing you any favours. I think the OG Greek Freak nailed the big tee/skinny jeans thing by rolling his sleeves up. Not sure if that’s FOG/Jerry approved though but hey.

Also im sure it’s just the angle of the photo but those birks make it look like you’ve got some Phelps’ sized flippers for feet
