Get yourself a disk lock or a bike cover that locks so that would-be thieves won't even bother.

Do you worry this makes it even more of a target? Thinking about getting a locking cover for my car, not because it's especially theft-worthy to most, but because getting replacement parts if things get fucked up would be a huge hassle.

I don't get it either. It's a really awkward length and just looks really blobby and unflattering but not even in a fun way. Might be ok if it was a full length coat but it's not.

But lots of people who usually look great like it so YMMV, obviously.
