1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

The time is soon. In time for F/W will do. Boots were only expedited due to an opportunity not to be missed.

No one gives a shit in any industry. Who cares if patients doubt you anyway, that's their problem not yours.

You're joking right? They can just go see someone else lol.

I think Bene can answer better. I probably have spent more time working in a hospital than he has, but he knows the process and the shortfalls better than me.

The point is that if you have confidence in your ability to do your job, why should you bother caring when someone doubts your ability for a completely irrelevant reason? Pretty sure they're going to find something to doubt about the next guy too. His shirt might be the wrong colour. It might be a woman. etc etc ad nauseum.

Are you being cereal? What kind of hospital would want to give patients any reason to doubt their doctors?

A large part of patients' treatment comes from their trust of and belief in the doctor. Besides the placebo effect (which is more significant than most think) and other strange psychological things, patients that don't take their doctors seriously might not adhere to the treatment regime, which can undermine the medication.
I'm very liberal and wouldn't care if my doctor was tatted or pierced or whatever, but most patients (especially older people, which make up a huge proportion of patients) aren't prepared for 'hip', 'trendy' doctors. The expect seriousness and professionalism, and physical presentation plays into that. I think, for now, the friendly chitter chatter and small talk should be left to nurses, while doctors should appear wise and competent, not to say that doctors shouldn't be warm, approachable, and friendly.

    anyhoo,

    Thanks @reedobandito for the vest
