1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

^^ Agreed. I think differnt colored pants (dark navy?) would work better. The coat in itself is great though.

Agreed - I think navy the same shade as the hat ribbon would work better, but it was fun to go all out primary colours :) The coat was an HM sale bargain, but oddly it's as waterproof as my Mackintosh and the construction isn't far off...

Looks like Hanes X Old Navy X CP

The sweatshirt is a bit big and I think some slimmer pants may help. or maybe a cuff?

Okay, thank you. Drag, as I just got the sweatshirt. I've had the pants for some time now.

Will keep trying. I'm learning every day and believe me, I'm looking at what you're all wearing, too.

Alright, just picked up some slim trousers and T's from Epaulet and some other goodies elsewhere. I promise not to post any more slouchy, messy fit pics. Thanks for rolling with me.

From the looks of it, you're a slightly older dude (my apologies if I'm mistaken) – that sweatshirt looks very basic, but really nice. It looks like you maybe pulled the hem down, which makes it look a little tighter than it probably is. I don't think there's anything wrong with it at all. Just looks like a comfortable sweatshirt, which isn't a popular aesthetic on a gothninja-leaning forum full of 135lb 22-year-olds.

The pants could use a cuff or something, though. Otherwise it's v normcore.

I'm 44 in a month so I suppose that's old to some. But no excuse to not have a clean, well-executed wardrobe.

Over the past five years or so I've enjoyed filling my closet with nice stuff. MMM, Raf, some Prada, EG, OL, Beams, Jil, and more recently SLP. But I spent many years of my life very heavy and very out of it both stylistically and just in general. Now I'm getting back to a weight I like (165) but the downside of that is that so much of what's in my closet doesn't fit well anymore.

I'm lucky that I've been successful enough as a musician to travel around the world (as far as Japan and NZ) and I'm not showing any signs of stopping. So my goal is to look as good as I can while making and performing music while maintaining a level of age-appropriatness. It sounds tricky but I believe it can be done.

Hoping to glean some tips and direction from this forum while trying not to tax you all's patience.

Thanks for hearing me out and I look forward to looking better good.

Tg, I think that fit was just a bit too washed out.
Maybe some black, dare I say, denim *gasp* would work better.
    White Button up+sweatshirt+black pants+sneakers

Can we get a Close up shot of the marni? Any interesting details?

It's got a cool (slight) wrinkle effect that I didn't think I would like but has proved to be kind of nice. And I just liked the whole straightness it has and the plain, minimal cut.

I like the idea of a button up underneath. I don't want to keep pushing the whole I-used-to-be-fat thing, but because of that fact I would never have considered that option. But while it's still cool enough out I think I just might. Thanks again.

Thanks, raags. Hope this hasn't strayed too off-topic.

    Cheers.

Thanks, nicelynice. I'm leaning that way, especially since I already have some other navy knits.
