1. Welcome to the new Styleforum!

We are currently fine-tuning the forum for your browsing pleasure, so bear with any lingering dust as we work to make Styleforum even more awesome than it was. I'd like to keep you abreast of the improvements we've made over the past few days.
@notification emails have been added, in response to user requests

Attached images are now Full Size by default

Users are now all allowed three (3) links in their signature files,

SSL certification is now in place so you can all browse securely.

The server has been reconfigured so that site speeds will improve.

Notice: Right now the site is slow because we are fixing all the images from the past 4 months. Many of you noticed that these were missing, and we are fixing that problem now. Unfortunately, it is taking up a lot of resources and causing the site to be slow.

Oh, and don’t forget to head over to the Styleforum Journal, because we’re giving away two pairs of Carmina shoes to celebrate our move!

This probably comes down to the idea of "value" when it comes to clothing?

Hahaha GODDAMNIT do I hate that question. Like I wanna hook them up with info and I appreciate it as a roundabout compliment (usually), but I always have to say "the internet" too w/o elaboration and it sounds so stupid haha

I've had a few people who were really interested press beyond that (about my BLESS), ended up giving him SF and Sufu refs and he even typed them into his phone lolol. My gf looked pretty embarrassed

People have asked me about my purple inverallan and if I got it at UO. I told them I got a bunch of old scottish grannies to knit it for 12-14 weeks.

Also got comments on people wanting to pop the bubbles on my rafdidas.

One time when I was wearing my sport coat and shorts combo, several Japanese businessmen began spontaneously taking photos of me while I was passing them in downtown San Francisco. I stopped to ask why they were taking photos of me, and one of them said simply "you look like Moo from Styleforum."

Most of my coworkers are your typical mainstream types who all wear stuff like A&F, Supreme, Nike (especially those Roshe runs), Herschel Supply Co. Longchamp, and Michael Kors bags. Your average Hypebeast male and female shit. Zara is as high street fashion as they are willing to go, and even then it's rare. So for them, simply seeing me wear jeans with leather boots, cardigans, and a nicer non tech coat to work everyday is their idea of "well dressed", or "going somewhere".

sometimes i wonder if they're the "luckier" ones though, to not care at all.
an MC outfit: (suit 1500, shoes 500, tie/square 200, belt 150 = nearly 2.5k) and that's midrange to most here. multiply that by a few times.
a midrange SwD outfit would be easily half that assuming it's not deeply discounted or second hand.

i sometimes think about adding up what i've accumulated, but then i think it's probably a bad idea.. the bane of wanting to have nice things..

I get compliments now and then on my more "normal" fits, only comment I recall I've gotten on my more unusual ones was when a dude downtown out of nowhere shouted: "yo that looks ugly as fuck!"

This is kind of funny, given your ongoing recent transformation into "Regis, the Shirtless Wonder."
