1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

since it doesn't seem like we're willing to drop it as a community, i'll throw my 2 cents in.

i think that people like isachenko, as inflammatory as they can be to both the individual and the community, provide a balance to the overall sentiment and attitude. it's important to realize that you likely walk past people on a daily basis who share his sentiments in regards to your appearance, even if you live in a "fashion forward" area.

since we belong to this small community it's easy to insulate ourselves from what everyday people think and feel about our choices in terms of clothes, fragrance, whatever. brad is an easy example and i bear no harsh feeling toward him but a man who wears makeup will come off as a homosexual to just about every male, at least in the western hemisphere. i understand how potentially baseless this claim is but i'd wager to say most people not only do not but also do not care and will instead live off the knee jerk reaction of seeing a male in makeup.

i believe it was synthese who at one point shared his frustrations when he was hanging out with people of high education who couldn't understand his personal choice to wear a fragrance. you'd assume the more educated a person is they are likely more cultured and understanding but this is clearly not always the case.

this is getting unnecessarily long so in conclusion realize not every person you meet in life is some ultra liberal understanding cultured individual who can understand your aesthetic tastes and, most importantly, respect them. these people will sometimes find this community and express themselves as they see fit. where styleforum sees a man in a skirt as pushing the boundaries and flirting with androgyny the average male sees him as a faggot in a skirt. excuse my language.

Got my yoox blackjack hiking boots in today, more comfortable than my $300 Ecco boots.

They're a little roomy so I just ordered one size down in the darker brown to see if it's a better fit.

only just realised while browsing the NMWA thread that you worked there 4est, what a cool venture to be a part of. there's always a really great vibe in startup businesses where people love what they're doing.
