I feel like the bang-for-your-buck calculation on that Regis fit is very whimper-for-a-fortune
which I guess is cool with MMM where it's some postmodern fashion thing where you spend lots of money on banal attire to deconstruct the idea of fashion but I'm not sure on whom the joke is?

I calculated in my head what I spent on each piece I am wearing and I understand your point. I guess my explanation of it would be I pay extra to still wear what I like and since I like to have as little clothes as I can, I might as well get even the basics (for instance those Jeans are one of only 3 jeans in my closet) when I can't be in virgin wool jackets/trousers and other cool looking footwear. Really the only one that knows and cares about the details in the T and Jeans I posted is me (outside of this forum). Then things like fit and comfort come to mind and at least in my head the costs are justified. I also plan to have these items for the foreseeable future and beyond. Sometimes though a situation just forces you to look kind of 'boring' as it is said around here. The small details that I care about is what makes me enjoy wearing them regardless

am I out of line to think that like those painted GATs are kind of a joke of "here's some old sneakers with house paint on them that are really expensive" or the MMM stuff where they took found clothing and reproduced it as "fashion." This was playful yes? Do I not get it? I like fashion but it is funny yes?

i like margiela because it is funny and jokes are serious but i don't know that regis does the joke? maybe he does it very dry and I don't see it, though, than that is good.

I think it's less about designer inspiration/vision and more about clothes that he feels and looks good in. When I get dressed I think: do I feel good in this, does this look good? Things like: what was the designer thinking when they made this item or how would the designer have envisioned this piece being worn - never cross my mind.

agree on wearing what makes you feel good, but how personal can any all margiela fit be for anyone though? once in a while it happens, but seems to happen pretty regularly

    personally, like the kicks though.
