Dunno, normally a big fan of Parker's looks but that sweater would generate "wtf" comments from another brand/poster.

really? loose knit, tapered trou, chunky boots? That sounds like what a lot of posters here do often, and quite well (or would like to do)- and it looks good on him.

The print of the loose knit... if you saw something like that in GQ made by Diesel, everybody would be pointing it out and laughing at it. Any "lesser" poster around here would probably be ridiculed regardless of the brand.

I get where FlyingMonkey is coming from with the comment about the knit being like a fashion in-joke, but I think that's part of its charm for me. It's like those kitsch anime knits Yohji did as well, same oddball vibe. When you look at the quality of the construction of the knit combined with the kitsch graphics it makes for an interesting (and silly) juxtaposition. I know people on here generally seem to not like that sort of thing, but I have always felt it has character and works because it doesn't take itself seriously. Two things that I think match Parker pretty well imo.

Having said all that, one cannot divorce clothing from the wearer. I don't think there's anything wrong with one poster being praised wearing something that normally would be considered crap if someone else wore it (within reason of course). It's like Parker's fit with the Birkenstock sandals that was posted a while ago, I am very sure there were people who gave it a thumbs up that wouldn't have if it was someone who did not carry the outfit as well.
