Not exactly a WAYWT, but I'm trying to figure out whether to keep or return this shirt (Hickey Freeman). I like the pattern and fabric, but it would need some fairly aggressive tailoring, and the spread collar seems kind of off to me (and I can't really do anything about the collar).

    Keep and tailor or return?

Here's the thing with the collar, which looks like it's about to take flight:

hahahaha, fuckin otter. You're actually pretty damn good with that warp thing. That first one of me in the green blazer totally looks like fuckin shrek. It's also flattering to know you've stored my old WAYWT ;)

Are you sure the collar will not settle after some wear? I felt like the same with a GAP shirt I bought, slim with polka dots (love it). After wear and wash the collar rolls so beautifully... And, I know you probably did, but did you just throw the shirt on, or did you button it on and adjust it in front of a mirror before the photo shot.

i think the print is nice

BUT, in looking at the photo a 2nd time, I don't think it is worth tailoring unless you can get it for cheap. I would assume the shirt would be more fitted (was going to order something too).

Collar I think it should be fine overtime
Cut is a bit big, even on you--check the sleeves.
The only thing it has going for it imo is the print.

    Return :(

    Thanks for the input, y'all.

Bummer, too, 'cause I definitely like the pattern.

At least now I know that Hickey Freeman shirts aren't the right cut for me.

the flying collar thing happens with all the moderntailor shirts before you wash them, too. but the fit isn't great overall with that HF anyway so I'll pile on and say yeah, return...
