Thanks again for the goods.

That's actually just a longsleeve hanes shirt I dug out of my dresser.

I agree about the tie (and that it's way nitpicky on a really good fit

), and this brings up something I've been meaning to ask since I joined the forum but keep forgetting:

I'm used to seeing a tie break somewhere right around the pants line, but that's on more traditional trouser cuts with a higher rise than most people on this side of the forum wear. Is there any consensus on approximately where the tie should hit with low- or mid-rise pants?

It always looks weird to me when there's white space between the point of the tie and the pants, but it's kind of overkill in terms of total tie length if the tip extends anywhere past the belt buckle.

This is mainly a point of academic curiosity, since I've come to loathe wearing a tie myself.

I would leave the tie at the same length and allow for a little gap. But for me a tucked shirt with low rise pants almost always looks off. Especially without a belt.

Thank you for the details.

May I also request a frontal view as well? I am curious to see how the side zipper look against this wonderful snow white fit. That and the annoying shoe tongue.

Many thanks.

P.S. Nice "junk in the trunk".

lol l&f has linen scarves, quite long and wide too, which you could play with to make different shapes/wraps

I'd think regardless of rise a tie should always come to a point onto the top of your belt buckle/waist. Mid-low rise and normal suit trousers aren't that different from one another that your tie looks massively different. A tie probably shouldn't be worn with proper low rise trousers in the first place.

I'm in the only-wear-a-tie-with-a-suit brigade anyway so it's a moot point...

Yeah, and you shouldn't wear black unless it's a funeral or a wedding.

thanks for the various comments guys.
seems like the tie was a bit of a love or hate thing, as well as the hat.
I dont wear a tie that often, and i didnt really worry if the length was exactly right... i did get it way off the first time i did it though and had to re-tie it.
I went back and forth on a belt but didnt think i had one that worked quite right.
Also, i think the tie looked just slightly longer in the pictures than it was.. at least it looks a tad shorter here:

I think you look way better with a hat.
