NOBD, love the suit. I was at an 'upscale' department store the other day trying on suits. I just can't get over how sloppy the 'fine wool' pants that come with the suits are. I hate how flimsy they are, and they just generally look like shit to me, never flattering.

However, I LOVE the way your pants are structured. Good consistent taper from the knee down, pretty much no break, subtle stretching at the knees, single cuff, etc. Do you have to go with a fairly heavy wait material to get this 'structure'? whats the secret, looks great. Any way you can take a shot where you are standing still to see how it compares?

Thanks. The thing is that these are made from rather flimsy material: 7 oz cotton, which is really light. The secret is probably that all sizes and the construction are right. The cuffs (a bit of extra weight) help as well.

In general heavier fabrics keep their shape better and they drape (fall) better. I wouldn't recommend cotton this light for trousers, but I really wanted this to be a light summer suit, hence my choice. I'll check later if I have a pic.

Edit: pic from last year (after a three hours drive):

^ i agree, i can never get my mc trousers to fit like that, one of the reasons i rarely feel good in a suit.i think NOBD's success is partly to do with the small hems ( maybe 19cm?) and cuff, but also i think he's 6'2" or something which obviously helps.

These are 19cm yes. My new ones are 20cm, because I wanted them a touch wider (for a better balance with the jacket). I am 1.88m (and too lazy to do the conversion... [IMG]).

awesome NOBD, really impressive for that kind of lightweight material. i dont want to veer off topic but is there some rule of thumb you use as to length of suit jacket? i know i could ask on mc but id rather do it here as you and aeglus are pretty much the only ones ive seen whose suit fits id like to copy.

I like them on the short side as long as they cover the buttocks [IMG].

you dudes who were PM'ing me and asking about my U-neck tee: it's just some store brand U-neck undershirt (they have crew, V-neck, and U-neck in Japan) from Isetan, like $15. They had some more expensive brand name ones for like $30 or so, Lanvin and Paul Smith, etc. 'Duke Madison' is just some brand for men's underwear by one of the biggest makers in Japan, like a Japanese Jockey or something.
