    you are wrong
No. You drink jw black label. As the science people say, I believe, quod erat demonstratum. The point of a good burger is the burger. Not other things to distract you from the taste of the burger. No mustard, no pickles, no ketchup, no bacon. Nada. Cheese is as far as it goes, and only cheddar. I can forgive swiss but may think less of you for it.

No, I drink black label on the rocks when I'm out and laphroaig when I'm home don't you pay attention?

What you're describing is steak not a burger. Foie gras is stupid, but bacon is complementary without taking away. The balance is perfect but because you haven't had it you just don't know.

    That's pretty dogmatic, AR.

edit: Kobe beef burgers bug the hell out of me. Why in god's name would you take beef that's immaculately marbled with fat and grind it up?! You could just as easily take a decent cut of lean beef in one hand, a chunk of fat in the other, and bam! same thing.

It's the conspicuous consumption, faux-luxury version of a burger. It's expensive for the sake of being expensive, and it connotes quality primarily because it ruined what could've otherwise been a good steak.

^I would grab a burger and some beer with this du right here. Had that golden state burger with some rochefort 10 on superbowl sunday followed by an upmann mag 50.

I thought it was a given that I'm a connoisseur of all things fine from females to cigars.

^This is extremely true but I am at peace with that.

You really think I haven't had bacon on a good gourmet burger? It tastes good but it tastes like a bacon cheeseburger. It's a waste. Beer is complimentary.

Never understood the appeal of laphroaig. It tastes like bog water.

^I am not the biggest fan either but scotch is one of those things where I don't feel like there is cause to judge other peoples' tastes since they vary so much. Ie, people like very different things in their scotch and there's no real right or wrong in it. The opposite perspective is what has led to wine getting so much less varied and interesting over time.
