Think of the White Stripes: excellent musicians, they have every tool at their disposal. Yet creatively, they often get stalled out until they begin placing obstacles in their path. (No more G chords; No more effects; only play in this minor key, etc.) Similarly, you could probably benefit by say, setting a four or five hundred dollar limit on each outfit; or by purchasing each new getup with a particular context in mind: classroom, VIP lounge, sailing, skydiving, whatever. (Sounds crazy, but the research pans out. Right now, it just looks like a bit of a hodgepodge, IMHO.)

Or you could go with the polar opposite: outright imitation. This has really worked for me, lately. Just pull up this thread on your phone whenever you're out shopping, save the pics you like, and buy those outfits. Boom. Better than buying **** off the mannequins.

(Failing all that, just hire the **** out of those Queer Eye guys. You've got the $$$, and they got cancelled...)

what research in which field? i'm really interested in reading it.

For serious? I'll try to dig some up. The stuff I read was just general pop psychology that referenced a few duplicated university-run studies on creativity and problem solving. Some of them focused on constraints, of great interest to me because this was sort of pioneered by the French avant-garde.

Great advice here. I think you're a jeans fit away from looking 10x better, Jason.

Stinger - you could have walked right off of Hedi's runway, and that's a good thing. Well done.
