Interesting... Yeah I can see how BB58 owners can argue that their watch is same as Sub and Sub owners saying no way. Lol.

The BB58 feels and looks extremely well made. There is something magical, though, about the design of certain no-date Subs. The Tudor is excellent. The Sub might be perfect?

This is comparison between the BB heritage (not the 58), so not exactly the same watch, but I think this rundown is pretty on point:

A month? That’s good.

How long ago did you buy yours ?

now... would one say that buying Rolex vs Tudor is same as Toyota vs Lexus. Lexus has lots of parts from Toyota and up charges a lot due to name.
same with Tudor? Would you be receiving about the same quality as Rolex but not with the same status
Not to totally take the thread down the Rolex/Tudor rabbit hole but Tudor I think does have the ability to stand on its own. People think of it as Rolex’s little brother and historically I think that was more true than it is currently. They definitely take design cues from them on a lot of their pieces but do put their own spin on them making them unique (and in some cases better IMO). I suppose the Toyota/Lexus comparison works in so far as there are models you would definitely rather have from one or the other but they share some similarities.

That’s kinda how I feel. When I put the Rolex sub on, I liked everything about it—how it felt on my wrist, the flat (as opposed to domed) crystal, size, etc. I’ll see how I feel about the BB58 when I try that one.

The 58 is significantly different from the heritage model you tried. If you love the Tudor (as I certainly do) get it. You'll be very happy with it. However, as others have said, if you love the Rolex (as I certainly do), but "settle" for the Tudor (as the more "sensible" option), it's going to cost you more money down the line, because you're just going to end up getting the Sub anyway, which...hey...that's actually not such a bad plan...

Absolutely agree. I love both brands for different reasons.

If the decision becomes overwhelming, simply cut the Gordian knot and get an Omega Speedmaster Professional. Haha...

Such a good watch. Such a shame they discontinued it. I have nothing against 36mm, and I understand that the so called 41mm is not dissimilar to the old 39, but the double markers on the new versions just feel unnecessarily busy. And of course, no more white dial.

I really love it. So glad I snagged it before it got discontinued. It just goes with anything.

I'm looking at a late spring/early summer watch purchase that will be a significant jump in spend compared to my current choices (grey market Hamiltons). With those disclaimers out of the way here are my target features: blue dial and a small seconds complication. The Nomos Ahoi and IWC Portugieser jumped out to me as front runners in this design. The IWC is definitely on the high side (and over the initial budget estimate, +/- 5k) for what appearance wise is a standard clean design - granted it is well executed. I rarely wear a suit, weddings and infrequent c-suite meetings, and typically dress in jeans/chinos.

Are there any other watches that come to mind? That said if I walked into an AD and they had a Rolex Explorer in stock, I'd likely buy it and table this for a year. The good news is that won't happen.

Idk, summer watch, I am picturing something sporty. Maybe white face, bracelet or non dark strap.
