The sticker prices on Rolex have only been skyrocketing in recent years. In 1995 I bought a new Subdate from an AD with a discount for $2,500 (MSRP was $2,850). Then in 2001 I bought new Explorer 2 from an AD for $2,915 and its MSRP was $3,425. Then in 2005 I found a new Sub Date with green bezel for $4,500 and its MSRP was $4,850. Now these watches all have MSRPs of over $8,000 and discounts are much harder to come by. If you bought them when prices were good, hang on to them.Wow, another shocker. I think I paid $3K even (gray market) for my NIB sub date in 2001. LOL I may need to adjust my insurance coverages for these.
