The watch on the left is a Poljot which I wear on a daily basis.

My grandfather left me the Patek Philippe. Its not particularly old though. The other is a pretty standard Breitling navi. I bought it while doing my PPL.

How long ago did your grandfather buy the Patek? Did he have several nice watches? If not, I'd be suspicious about it being the real deal, and maybe he bought something at a price too good to be true. Only reason I'm asking is I've never seen that model. I'm not a Patek expert, but I am relatively familiar with what they have offered in the last 15 years or so, and thats something I've never seen. Do you have more pix? The only photos I was able to find of something similar is from a watch replica site. http://www.canada-watches.com/patek-philippe-pp-029-patek-philippe-013-day-date-moon-22952.html So it may have sentimental value, but I'm wondering if its just some type of replica.

Nice Breguet. I'm not sure I've seen anyone post wrist shots of Breguets here. I have always liked their classic automatic power reserve, date, and moonphase watch.

Yes, you were more subtle about it than I was. Good eye. There are people that know far more about Patek's than I do. But I am familiar enough with their collection to say this looks nothing like any annual calendar or perpetual calendar that they have offered since the late 1990s. This looks more like a basic day-date calendar watch, and as far as I know Patek hasn't made of those in the last 20 years maybe longer. If this one escaped me its my mistake, but I think its a bad replica... the site where I found its picture has some AP replicas that pathetic...they look more like caricatures of APs.

I will investigate. He left me a few other watches as well. One was a white gold Daytona which I had overhauled and then sold to watch shop on Burlington Arcade. Another was a rose gold calatrava that was a lot heavier than this one which I sold as well.

Neither of them were really my thing, much too flashy. My grandfather never wore a watch so I really had no qualms about selling the lot of them.

I don't know anything about patek philippe but I had my suspicions about this one. Its very light and the strap is definitely not leather.

Not sure why he would have had a replica among his effects but we'll never know now.

Might have been a gift ?

A bit sad that you sold the Calatrava and kept this one instead

haha. I'd rather have the £18k + the replica than the calatrava tbh.

I suppose it could have been a gift. He wasn't really into collecting watches as such. The dayona and the calatrava were gifts.
