Not if you're famous
Bought these yesterday. Sadly, to flip not keep.
The rolex is WOW! Keep man keep!!
wish i could, but was not bought with my money.
I had a white gold Daytona years ago. Overall, nice watch but I never warmed up to it. The dial and bezel were slightly different from my SS Daytona, but it just looked too similar for a lot more money. It just never looked or felt any more special than my SS versions. So I sold it. If I were ever buying another gold Daytona, it would be the rose gold. Hopefully, your bosses will let you wear them a bit and have some fun.
do you feel that way about WG/plat in general, or was it only because you also had the same model basically, in SS?
i certainly hope so.
That was my one experience with a white gold watch. Personally, I don't think I'd choose a white gold watch again. Platinum, is a completely different matter. I would buy a platinum watch if I liked the design enough. Platinum, has some serious heft to in in terms of feel on the wrist, even when used on a dress watch, and I like that. I can also appreciate that its more difficult to work with, that per ton of raw ore far less platinum can be produced compared than gold, its far rarer, and its more durable. If you scrape platinum it can be repolished many times and none of the metal is lost its just been moved. When you polish gold actual metal is lost.
To me white gold has none of those qualities, it often looks more gray than pure white so it is frequently plated with rhodium or other whiter metals, and its really not any more distintive than steel on a watch. It also may not help that one of my friends used to call white gold..."The poor man's platinum." If spending money on watch with a gold case, most times choose rose. It has some color, but its more subtle than yellow gold can look on some watches. I don't own any platinum watches, but I hope to have at least 1 some day.
Ah ok How much are you going to sell this for?
That is the nicest Daytona I've seen. Meteorite dial?
After a few weeks, I can say with complete confidence that I can't think of a more comfortable bracelet/watch than my Speedmaster.
i hear that, and its all true afaik, interestingly enough though, per oz, gold is presently more valuable than plat. OTT, the metal in the plat watch is 95% plat, whereas 18k, the actual gold in the metal is 75% gold.
im not sure. i would guess 25K if we can get it, retail is about 40K. but ill gladly take offers. serious offers feel free to PM.
thanks! i have not seen in person. pic was texted to me from our other location when they asked my assistance in what to buy it for. pretty sure its dark MOP though.
and great news!
25K is a good price, would have bought if I could spend those cash right away. It's a beauty. Need to start low with my AP first
My double red SD
Awesome watch! Looks like a very nice example too - clean dial, the hands match the dial and the bevelled edges of the lugs seem to be intact.
