There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I think you are right. Lol my bad. Didn't realize the iwc was that much. I guess the rado is a lot less. What's the most I should pay for a rado chrono - 1200?

http://www.gemnation.com/watches/IWC...atic-1019.html Here it is from a grey market dealer for around $5k to get an idea of price*. It will be more from an authorized dealer but then you have some leeway to bargain with them. *Please note that I am not advocating buying from them.

If you are seriously asking yourself that question, I would suggest to put your credit card back into your wallet because there is a lot more reading you need to do. Completely different leagues

If you like the 60s in a pic you will LOVE it when you actually wear it.
    - I know, which variation though!

Really? I see the rado for 600-800 and the iwc for 300. They aren't that far off really. It's not like they are 5k+ watches.
    - an IWC or OEM strap alone is $300

For those prices, they sound fake.
    +1

    - Apology accepted..

My vintage Omega Seamaster Chronometre, ca. 1964. Inherited this in beat-up shape, and had it fully restored at Omega about a year ago. Love this watch to death; not fancy like most of the watches in here though. To me, it's so simple and charming.

c_del: no apologies! That's a very nice watch, and Omega is a great, highly respected brand.

Thanks! The quality of some of these older watches is truly amazing; the watch is built like a tank. Before I got it, it was neglected; never oiled, never adjusted. It kept perfect time even despite this. It does have a COSC certified chronometre movement, but I wonder if it still is up to current COSC spec? I'm assuming they raise they standards over the years. Anyone know?

Sorry about the crappy photos, my camera is on the mends. I paid $2,400 for it, is that a fair price?

Is that a 3741 quartz? $2,400 is probably a bit rich unless it's NOS (doesn't look like it though)

    Nice watch - congrats!

(caveat: haven't seen many of those for sale recently so the above may be a dated view on market price)

    Mmmm, T-dials...

...nice one! And the mecaquartz (?) is a very interesting piece of engineering.

/M, today with two tritium-dialled divers

I had a quick question: I was browsing this thread and saw that there was a watch similar to this [IMG] But made by Seiko. Does Seiko actually make this, and if they do, does this come in a slimmer version?

^ Yes, Seiko does indeed make watches under the Lorus brand, as well as Alba, J.Springs, Credor (which is awesome, comparable to Grand Seikos) among others.

No idea on the second part of your question though. May be try a search for "Lorus" in TimeZone, WatchUSeek, and PMWF buying & selling sections?
